Hamburger Steak and Gravy Recipe



- 1 Egg, whole, raw, fresh
- ⅛ teaspoon Spices, pepper, black
- ½ teaspoon Spices, garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon Oil, soybean, salad or cooking
- 2 tablespoons Wheat flour, white, all-purpose, enriched, bleached
- ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
- ¼ cup Bread crumbs, dry, grated, plain
- 1 pound Beef, ground, regular, (approximately 27% fat), raw
- 1 cup Soup, beef broth or bouillon canned, ready-to-serve
- ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
- 1 tablespoon Fleischmann's Cooking Sherry II
- ½ teaspoon Spices, onion powder
- 1 cup Onions, raw


Instructions Checklist
  • In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, pepper, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Form into 8 balls, and flatten into patties.

  • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the patties and onion in the oil until patties are nicely browned, about 4 minutes per side. Remove the beef patties to a plate, and keep warm.
